KnowFlow Privacy Policy

KnowFlow is a Chrome extension that helps users understand selected webpage terms by generating AI knowledge cards.

Data processed

KnowFlow may process the following data:

• Selected webpage text and nearby context
• The current page title and URL when saving a note to Obsidian
• User settings, including enabled state, disabled sites, output language, optional Obsidian vault name, and cache preferences
• A user-provided DeepSeek API key

How data is used

Selected text and nearby context are sent to the configured AI provider only to generate knowledge card content.

The DeepSeek API key is stored using Chrome extension storage and is used only to authenticate requests to DeepSeek.

When the user clicks “Save to Obsidian”, KnowFlow opens an Obsidian URI containing the generated Markdown note. This action is initiated by the user.

Data sharing

KnowFlow does not sell user data.

KnowFlow does not use user data for advertising.

KnowFlow does not transfer user data for purposes unrelated to its single purpose.

If the user configures DeepSeek as the AI provider, selected text and nearby context are sent to DeepSeek to generate the requested explanation.

Sensitive pages

Users should avoid using KnowFlow on pages containing sensitive personal, financial, medical, client, company-confidential, or private communication content unless they are comfortable sending selected text and nearby context to the configured AI provider.
